CFL Week 2
Last week, The Force played against the Filthy Dawgs and both played well. Both quaterbacks had bad days, however I did step it up this week.
Up by a touchdown, the Filthy Dawgs mixed up their line a bit. They stopped having "the Big Guy" on the offensive line and use him as a wide out. Thank God. This big guy was holding my jersey and even registered a punch to my face! I know I'm small, but punching in the face is UFC Fighters!
Anyways, with him as a wide out, I was matched up with someone my own size. At first I just tried standing up and blasting my way through. Not much luck there.
Then I tried actually leaning forward on my hand and having my legs bent, just enough to push my way through the offensive line.
The Filthy Dawgs then snapped the ball and I called out, "1-gator, 2-gator!" I burst right inbetween the line and reached out for the flags.
He just barely threw the ball. I was so close on making my first sack!
I was getting pumped on how close I was getting to the qb! I did it again and this time, I registered my first sack.
It was so awesome, I was pumped up and got my team pumped as well. I got a couple more rushes and we ended up getting the ball back.
There was very little time left on clock, less than a minute I would say. We got a first down, but we still needed 20 more yards for a touchdown. The Filthy Dawgs stopped our quarterback and The Force ran out of time.
The Filthy Dawgs won in a defensive shoot-out, 14-7.
Collegiate Blue (mka Powder Blue)
This Monday night, the Chargers face the Pittsburgh Steelers here in San Diego. The Chargers will be sporting their Collegiate Blue, mostly known as Powder Blue, jerseys. Here's an interesting fact, the Chargers are 2-4 with the Powder Blue jerseys. Last time we wore the ol' skool jerseys, we beat the Jaguars 34-21.
