An act of God

Today I witness an act of God this afternoon. But first, let me build up to how it all began.

Every Sunday, I have this routine that I normally go through with just so that good luck spills upon the Mighty Chargers.

I tend attend mass before each game, don't listen to any music while in the car, wear my "Eli Sucks!" shirt, my blue polo shirt with the stripes vertically aligned and I never use my phone during the game.

Today I woke up late and missed the 7:00 a.m. mass. I woke up in time to do the Daily News and update the site with the gameday link and audio.

I wore my Eli and Charger Polo shirt, however the Chargers were just dropping balls left and right and plus LT tried to throw the ball and that was an incompletion. Sorry LT, I ruined your perfect QB rating. The Chargers missed two field goals and ended up down 10-7 by the half.

So I had to do what I had to do and that was go to church. I couldn't do any earlier cause it was the Spanish mass. Who knows what would happen if I attended a Spanish mass. I had to wait for the mass at noon.

During the mass, I kept on praying in my mind for the Chargers to win today. When I finally got home, I was too nervous to check out the score of the game, but I checked it online to see if Joel had asked me any questions or what not. I saw that the score was 17-17 with 6 seconds left.

I quickly ran downstairs to check out the final play of the game. Brees drops back and throws one in the end zone. It goes over Gates' hands and VJ wasn't close enough to grab a tipped ball. The Redskins got another interception.

Sigh. We go into overtime.

The Chargers call tails and they get to receive the ball. Darren Sproles in the back to return. He gets to the 40-something. First play on offense was a toss to AG who gained 20 something yards.

Then the Chargers were in I-formation and they hand it off to LT who runs up the middle, breaks a tackle, stiffs arms a Redskin, and goes dashing toward the end zone.

I kept on cheering on LT from Escondido, "RUN! GO, GO, GO!"

LaDainian ran for a 41 yard touchdown. I yelled out, "YES, YES, YES! Y-E-S! YES!"

Who would've known that the Chargers would've came back from a 17-7 defecit to win in hostile territories in overtime, 23-17.

This was truly an act of God. Amen.

Amen, amen, amen. A-m-e-n. Amen.
