Beautiful Blood

Over the weekend, I donated blood to the San Diego Blood Bank in Escondido. I have a total of four pints donated which accumulates to half a gallon. I don't know the exact amount of people I save each time I donate blood, but I heard it's something like 3 people are saved per donation.

So altogether I've helped saved 12 people live. Now that makes me feel good. As blood was flowing through a side vein, the lady told me that I have "Beautiful blood." I thought to myself that blood is blood.

However she told me that the average blood color is like a Merlot-ish color and my blood was highly oxygenated and gave out a pure red color. Maybe next time I donate blood I'll take a picture of my blood to show it on the web. Please don't try to cut me just to see what color my blood is.

Anyways, after about seven minutes to fill up the bag I was treated to a couple cups of orange juice and received "Do it for the donut" t-shirt and received my VIP donor shirt. w00t!!1

They told me not to do any physical activity for 24 hours. The next day I tried to play basketball against Nan. That wasn't good. I felt dizzy and very light-headed after the game. I pretty much felt like passing out!

Then Nan asks me if I want to jog. I told her "No." as I made my way to living room. I crashed on the couch and Nan went to the rescue and gave me a glass of some yummy-in-my-tummy pin-apple juice.

I felt much better as started to drink more juice and some leftover ramen. Thanks, Nan! I heart you!
