Ooooh, Aaaah.. Cont.

I'd love to continue this, but I'm getting sleepy here at Steph's. So I think I'll take a nap. I know it might seem like I'm here all the time, but I got Steph and Jen some mochi and washed the dishes for 'em. Just a lil thank you for letting me stay for the bit.

Remind me to mention:

17,000 mph max speed for humans.
157 planets
Sun
Squid Theory
8000 miles for Earth's diameter, 20 miles mantle. So, what's in the rest of the 7960 miles of Earth?
Super Soldiers in the Future
Ooooh, Aaaah..

In my math class today, we learned quite a bit today. Not necessarily math, but my teacher, Rich, told us a bunch of sci-fi stuff today.

Lessee.. he mentioned about how if meteors were headed towards Earth, we could easily direct them from going somewhere else with the use of propellors. If we can attach some kind of strong propellor to the incoming meteor, it would've shifted its original course and thus missing our world.

He then mentioned what if one were to hit Earth and how it'd cause tidal waves. Did you know that tidal waves travel about 600 miles per hour?! Try out-running that! Rich told us that the highest a tidal wave has ever been was 1700 feet high. That's about a third of a mile. I believe he said it was in Alaska and rode for about 20 miles.

We then discussed war weapons like Bunker Bomb, nuclear tank shells and particle beams.

From what he said, Bunker Bombs act as a drill and then explode in labyrinth. This then sends some kind of a sonic pulse through and actually cuts corners of the maze, thus knocking out people who wanna mess with the US.

A nuclear tank shell can travel for about 30 miles with accuracy. Or so he says. So let's say some one from TJ had a tank and shot a nuclear tank shell, it could reach Camp Pendleton. In which case Camp Pendleton would return fire and wipe out TJ.

Oooh, next in line was a particle beam. He mentioned something 'bout loose electrons or whatever and that it could slice right through you like in Resident Evil (which I must say was a good movie!).

Photoshop World

Friday, I went to see the Tech Expo for the Photoshop World. Nothing too great over there. Just a bunch of freebies. Too bad they weren't offering a free Pen and Tablet from Wacom. Drats. ..the Jam Session later that night was simply awesome! Some of the top Photoshop Instructors (like Scott Kelby, Julieanne Kost, Ben Willmore, etc.), showed their some of their skills in 'bout 6 minutes! That was tight.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, "Big Electric Cat". Scott, Kalebra, Felix and a couple of others made up their own band, Big Electric Cat. They even made a spoof of VH1's Behind the Music called Behind the Pixels. This segment was too funny. "It got so hectic, they threw RAM chips on stage!"

Anyways, that was Friday, no biggie.

Now what I paid a whopping $399 for, Saturday. I went to see the keynote and got to meet some nice lady from Whittier. I think her name was Lynda or something. Cool thing 'bout the keynote was that Julieanne Kost showed us a couple of new things in Photoshop 7. Ooh.. Aah. I can already tell that I'm gonna like it. I can't wait til it's out. Besides that, I pretty much just stayed in the web track the whole day.

The first session with Ben Willmore was just great, he showed us how to slice and stuff. The second session with Robb Kerr was just okay. Just optimizing files on the web and what not. I should've gone to another one. The next one with Michael Baumgardt was a snoozer. I'm sorry, but there just wasn't much on "Advanced Web Techniques". Once again, I should've gone to another class. Maybe one with either Scott, Julieanne or Ben. They're my faves.

I wasn't too happy with my selections and wasn't too sure if I was going to get my $399 worth. But next I went to "High Tech Layout" with Scott Kelby. Even though he did horrendous job, I learned a lot with his enthusiasm and comedic approach. I feel that someone's who's teaching something be a lil spunky and have fun teaching. Much like Scott, Julieanne and Ben.

Last but not least, I saw Jack Davis, author of the Wow books (I think!). Animating graphics, hell yeah. I learned some cool techniques in that class, but wasn't able to catch any of his other classes. I figured if he just taught what was in the book.. I could just read the book. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy, but since it was already the end of the day, I don't think he had the fire that he potentially could've had in the beginning of the day.

Whew, my fingers are aching! I need a rest. I'll blog later.
Coming Soon to a Webpage Near You!

Welp, there's no more ads in my pages (Just pop-ups! So just keep one open and it won't keep on opening up!) coz I'm gonna convert to frames soon. Hopefully.

Hmm.. what else?

Oh yeah, This week you'll get to see my very own Euro Collage, whoo-hoo!

I'm really satisfied with it. Not bad for my first one. Well you gotta see it.

Also, I'm thinking that I'll be able to add some more graphics for links above my blog. I know it's really boring to look at 'em and that there's a grip of empty space everywhere.

So hmm.. lemme tell you 'bout Photoshop World..

Credited, But the Damage Has Already Been Done

I just got an email back from PhotoshopWorld.com and they said they'll be crediting my account for the $120 that shouldn't have been taken out of my account.

Nonetheless, I still had two checks bounce and that's no bueno.

That's 'bout $40 bucks in fees. *sigh*
Triskaidekaphobia and Flying Squids

Today in my math class, I learned about triskaidekaphobia and flying squids. Both to which I found very interesting.

My teacher, Rich, was asking why most of the class didn't attend class (they showed up late) and a hypothesis that he thought up of was triskaidekaphobia. Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of the number 13, bad luck and number hexes. Since it was the 13th, that was the first reason that came to mind.

Flying squids on the other hand, was another topic that Rich was talking about in class today. At first, we talked about how a million years ago, we had about 1015000 direct relatives. Then he mentioned that if they all died, there'd be 1015000x100 lbs. of dead matter. Which most of it already decomposed, thus making land that we now walk on. I thought that was a cool thing to think about.

So what about flying squids? Rich then mentioned that squids were going to take over the world due to the fact that a squid could lay 100,000 eggs and those 100,000 squids could lay another 100,000. Provided that they do not get eaten by other predators.

So what about flying squids? He then says that squids are going to evolve and eventually be able to breathe air and start fly.

So watch out for flying squids.
Damn PhotoshopWorld!

On PhotoshopWorld, I had recently purchased to register to the Photoshop Convention. With me being a Non-NAPP member, I had to pay $499. However since I am a full-time student, I get a whopping $100 discount. So it brings it down to $399. Cool.

However, I just recently checked my checking account and it so happens that I get charged for the full amount of $499!

HOLY CRAP!

I only had $470 in my bank!

My check bounces, I guess. I dunno.. I haven't gotten a notice in the mail.. yet.

So that puts me in a hole.. a deep hole.

What sucks even is more is that today, I went to Costco and purchased The One on dvd and got some ink, for my printer, for 'bout $66.

So now I'm guessing that I get a $20 fee for bouncing the Photoshop check and another $20 for bouncing the Costco one.

That totally sucks. Now I have no idea how many checks I've bounced.. this year. And it's barely the third month of 2002! Not Good!

This is not good. The first few times were coz I had no idea how much money I had in my account. But now with WaMu, I can check and transfer my funds online. Hell yeah. A lot easier to access without going the bank. What a waste of time.

Anyways, I guess that's it.

Go Aztecs!

Last week the San Diego Aztecs made it into NCAA Tourney.

I was pretty shocked. I knew they were good, but not that good. I was watching ESPN2 one night and saw that State beat BYU to advance in the MWC Tourney.

The next day, Johnny told me that State had won again against Wyoming, 70-69.

And not too long ago, State maintained to keep their lead and finally win at UNLV, this time for the MWC Championship.

However, I have a feeling that State is NOT going to get far in the big dance.

They're facing Illionis in the first round and I predict that State will have a decent first half and come up empty in the second.

Sam Goody Update

Hello there,

I believe SamGoody and SunCoast have the best selection when it comes to Japanese Anime, a little more pricey than say WalMart or BestBuy, but by far, the best selection.

I wanted to bring to your attention that your anime section online is however outdated. It states that releases are coming out in December and January. Last time I checked my calendar, March had already begun. Already more than a month and the upcoming releases still hasn't changed. It's slow updates like these which drive me to other dvd retail shops such as WalMart or BestBuy.

Another point I wanted to bring up was the fact that Triple Points on Replay Days are hardly any use. If I spend $100, I get $5 back? A 5% discount? But points add up when it's Triple Points, right? Do I as a consumer actually want to wait two months to start purchasing dvds? Two months, just to get a $15 coupon? I could've easily saved $15 shopping at BestBuy without worrying about, "Oh, today is the last day I can get my Triple Points."

What ever happened to 20% off all regularly priced merchandise?

I can't believe I've been a member to this club with any real club benefits.

If you're not going to change your Replay benefits, could you at least update your anime section?

Jay

That was to SamGoody.com. They are so slow when it comes to upcoming releases for anime.

Poor Baby

Well my male betta, Sean died on the 27th of February. I have no idea why, but he didn't last very long. Poor baby.

This week I was talking to Nan on the phone while walking in the hallway in the dark. Then I hit something. I hear and an, "Ugh." When I turn on the hallway lights, I see Maybeth on the floor, crying.

She ran right into, realizing that I had known she was coming and had acknowledged that by moving to the side. Which I didn't. So she ran into a wall named, Jay. When she lifted her head off the ground, she noticed she got a bloody nose. Boy was she pissed at me. Poor baby.

I got to finish the first Volume of Jubei Chan. I liked most of the animation. Except where the artist draws it in a very childish way. I really don't like it that way. But I guess that's the Japanese humor. The "Unrefined" or Ruffians is funny though with them always marching the same song. I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't buy this series in anime. I'm broke. Poor baby.

However, I got to see Amazing Nurse Nanako: The Last Spiral. Well at least the first episode, I had to work on Tuesday, so I wasn't able to finish the last episode. Poor baby.

On a brighter note, you might have noticed that I have drastically changed my website. Okay, not totally, but it's changed quite a bit. I wanna do more changes, but I'm gonna go to sleep now.
